Addition (sorry for the inconvenience): Browse Central Asia, Chapter 10:1, pgs. 242-247. Browse Ch. 10:2, pgs. 248-252, do pg. 252 # 3 the time line; starts on pg. 248-249, with 100BC. Browse Ch. 10:3, pgs. 253-257.
After browsing, use the following worksheets above for Chapter 10-sections 1,2,3 above.
April 18-20
Now Read/Decode Unit 3: Africa (Video Above). 1. Read, analyze, answer the questions and Map Zone Geography Skills on pages B 265-275; use your Journal/if in your locker use line paper.
2. Use pages 266, 268 to label the Africa map worksheet above : Label the countries, and identify at lease 12-16 capitals. I know it seems like its alot of countries--take you time--you can do it! Print or label the map by text box; if you can't, thats ok! Look it over and do your best to familarize...yourself with Africa's geography.
3. Read Chapter11:1, pgs. 276-282 (History of Ancient Egypt, 4500-500 BC). Remember, answer all questions and identify all pictures/illustrations as primary or secondary sources. Use the sheet previously set up in your Journal. Pick any 2-3 sub-topics (red colored titles) in this section and identify the Text Structure. Dont forget to answer Section Assessment 1 on page 282

4. Complete the reading and decoding of Chapter 11:2, pgs. 283-290. Answer all questions, and Section 2 Assessment, pg. 290, #1-4: Don't forget to identify if the pictures are primary/secondary source (will discuss upon return). Pick any 2-3 sub-topics (red colored titles), in this section and identify the Text Structure. Worksheet Above
5. Chapter 11:3, pgs. 291-297. Answer all questions, and Section 3 Assessment, pg. 296, #1-4: Don't forget to identify if the pictures are primary/secondary source (will discuss upon return). Browse Ch. 11:4, pgs.298-303 (notice pg. 302 Caption "Treasures of King Tut's Tomb" - watch video above on the First New Page Tab), also notice the illustrations on pgs. 302-303; see if you can identify them in the video. Worksheet for Ch. 11:4 is optional, look it over. However, read Section 4 Assessment pg. 303. Read and mentally (don't have to write down in your journal) answer questions 1a, 1c, 2a, 3. Worksheet above Ch. 11: 4 (optional). If completed, used as a suplement assignment for Section Assessment pg.282 or 296; If worksheet 4 is is not completed, then you must do Assessment pg. 282 or 296
*Take a look at the Washington Monument, in Washington, D.C. (The 'Impact Today'-pg. 300) Why is it an obelisk?
